As a replacement got a 600W Bonaire Summer Breeze Evaporative Cooling SBB800 yesterday as it's designed to fit old installations and is simple.

It was OK until then, a bit noisy at full output and was rated at 50% over capacity for the house but as there are a couple of rooms not used much it was decided to down size a bit on replacing it. I would never even refer Bonaire to my worst enemy.A lightning strike in a severe storm finished off our 9 year old Brivis with a 720W motor in February 2017. Please don't waste your money on this brand or products. Either ways its not worth it to put money on these dodgy evap coolers. Either Suppliers are dodgy or this company doesnt care about their customers. How in the world you are waiting on the valve to get delivered to you for more than 4 weeks. I should have chose something else over this stupid unit. All I know my evap cooler is still not fixed its been about 5 weeks and I am still chasing them and honestly I have no hopes that they will ever come and fix my unit at all.

They dont know how to run a business or may be their suppliers are not good or I must say reliable I dont know what the problem is.

Its xmas for you if they answer your call in less than 25mins.

Not to mention waiting time on calls are always 30-40mins. since then I have been chasing this company to come and fix my damn unit and every time I call them they just say we still havent received the part from our supplier. I called him up after three days he mentioned we are awaiting on the part from. Turn around time he mentioned was 3 days. after two weeks technician came to my property went up on roof and said Valve is faulty and he needs to get this from Headoffice and will then come and replace it. I called up customer care and they booked me in after 14days said its a busy time of the year. after only one year it stopped throwing cool air. I got new unit installed in my brand new house last year 2018. So my Bonaire developed a fault a few weeks past warranty, due to the manufacturers fitting an undersized capacitor, and it's my fault.īonaire Evap coolers are such a waste of money and time. I work with electricians and they confirm this. The service tech told me that fitting an undersized capacitor would shorten the life of both the capacitor and the motor.

Mine was only fitted with a 15uF capacitor. Fasco's data sheet for this motor, and Climate Tech (spare parts division), and other AC suppliers ALL state that this motor (and even the 750W motor which is standard for this unit) require a 25uF capacitor. The service guy was very polite, but he showed me that the unit was fitted with the wrong (undersized) capacitor, which had failed. Read more y $300 to have a 'verification service'. He said the problem must have happened because I hadn't maintained it which would have put the motor under more load (in actual fact it's been kept VERY clean). Their service manager was rude and told me it was only covered for 5 years. The motor would cut out when run on any speed other than maximum. Literally a few weeks past 5 years the unit started to develop an electrical problem. The installer's quote stated it would be under warranty for 6 years. I had a Bonaire VSM65 installed in late 2015.
